The Greyton Genadendal Education Fund (GGEF) is an independent organisation founded in 1999 by the local Greyton and Genadendal Catholic Community. In the intervening years it has developed into a registered nonprofit and public benefit organisation which is non-denominational but adheres to a Christian ethic. Students are selected purely on merit. Awards are made irrespective of religious or political affiliations.

GGEF is a small regional NGO which aims to cater for the educational needs of local disadvantaged young people. It is managed by a six to ten member committee on a purely voluntary basis. A further 4 or 5 volunteers assist the committee during special events such as staff mentorship training, student workshops, selection interviews and educational outings.

GGEF's registered status ensures that donations are exempt from tax.

Our mission is to help in the upliftment of marginalized youth in our region by providing them with financial and interactive assistance in their quest to realize their full potential.

In this endeavour, we are generously supported with donations and encouragement, advice and assistance, from close to 40 paid up members.
